About the data
Area Bridge is built entirely from open government datasets. Postcode–suburb pairs and coordinates come from G-NAF, the national address file. Each address is placed in ABS statistical, electoral and council boundaries through the mesh block it's in, which shows which areas a postcode covers and in what proportion. ABS Census 2021 counts give the people and dwellings in each area.
Known gaps
PO Box and large-volume-recipient postcodes (for example GPO boxes and some university or government postcodes) have no street addresses, so they don't appear in open address data and aren't listed here.
